THE GOSPEL
The gospel is the good news that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we can be made right with a holy God. For a longer explanation of the gospel, our pastor has written up a one page summary statement for additional clarity.

Our history
Kirby Woods Baptist Church has existed since April 19, 1981 and was started by a group of Christian businessmen who sought to see a church started in East Memphis. Central Church had outgrown their building on Poplar Ave. and desired to sell to another church. The Christian businessmen seized the opportunity and purchased the property for the would-be Kirby Woods Baptist Church. Since then, the property has expanded and grown to the current facility you see today. The pastors in Kirby Woods’ history are Bill Darnell (1981-1986), John Keller (1986-1988), Bob Pitman (1988-2008), Jim Collier (2008-2017), Thad Key (2018-2019), and Jared Kress (2022-Present). OUR BYLAWS
