You might ask, “Where can I connect with people at Kirby? Or where can I serve at Kirby?”
Two of our main connection points involve Sunday Morning small group Bible studies (Sunday School) and in home Community Groups that meet during the week. It is in these two venues that you build relationships, study the Bible, and fellowship together. Adult Sunday Morning Bible Studies meet at 9:00 a.m. and we offer Couples Classes, Men’s Classes, Classes for Ladies, Single’s Classes, Inter-generational Classes, and Discipleship Classes.
Community Groups meet in different parts of the city to build relationships in a neighborhood with those who are unchurched and/or those who need Christ. These meet at different times and on different days of the week.
Places for service and ministry abound at Kirby Woods Baptist Church under the umbrella of our Education Ministry. There is a place for everyone to serve and exercise their spiritual gift.
- Sunday School teachers
- Outreach leaders
- Discipleship leaders
- Equipping University teachers and workers
- Vacation Bible School workers
- Care Group leaders
- Mission leaders and workers
- Extended Session helpers
. . . . all working together toward the same goal: evangelizing, nurturing, discipling, and growing.
The cornerstone of our Education Ministry is our small group Bible studies on Sunday mornings. Also known as Sunday School, these classes provide an opportunity for Adults, Students and Children to study the Bible on their own level, as well as benefit from the fellowship and support that is only available in a small group setting. The purpose for Equipping “U” is (1) to help equip the church through teaching and discipling using a biblically based curriculum and (2) to provide practical training both for the members of Kirby Woods Baptist Church and as a ministering evangelical outreach to our community.
