I believe that this is precisely where our church, Kirby Woods in the midst of a revival that began far longer than 3 days ago, finds itself today--Sitting at the feet of Jesus. Hearing Him speak into our hearts and lives, gently through the glory of His Holy Spirit within each of His children. Isn't this where revival takes place? At His feet, rather than on our feet. Isn't that how the story of Mary and Martha played out; and if we are honest, isn't that how the story of our lives have played out. Where... in the moments of stillness or the moments of joyful shouting--God has refreshed our spirit to be enamored with His Spirit. Isn't that how our God works? Isn't it just like God to use a man who stopped everything 3 times a day to reorient all of him to all of Him. 3 times Daniel walked away from the busyness of the day; returned to the place of the Master's feet...why? To surely be revived more fully. Surely Daniel wasn't going there because God couldn't hear him from elsewhere. Surely Daniel was a man, much more than I, who prayed without ceasing.
At His feet is where revival takes place? Prayer is so vital not because of our power to control God in prayer, but because of God's power in prayer to control us. Oh that His church, His church universal, His church-Kirby Woods, His church would be willing to just sit at His feet. I wonder if He might be saying to us, "you are worried and troubled about many things." (Luke 10:41b)
Oh that we might find revival at His feet.
